G'day folks. I wanna take the intake manifold off my FG to get it mirror polished. Can I get it off without disturbing the thermostat housing/waterneck etc? I know I have to take the fuel rail off and stuff.

Cheers

Can't think of why you'd need to remove the thermostat housing mate - although I haven't pulled one off an FG!

Cheers Pat. I'm gunna give it a crack in a couple of weeks. Just wanted to know if it was any major job so I can work out how long I will roughly have the car off the road in case I need her. The compressor housing is also getting shined up.

On the assembly line the manifold is added after the thermostat housing is fitted, so no, you don't need to remove it to remove/re-fit the manifold.
