Beefing Up F6 Clutch?

Featured Replies

#1

Howdy all,

I have an AP racing F6 twin plate clutch and was wondering if they can be beefed up by using a billet steel flywheel, pressure and intermediate plates?

I've seen pics of one that's let go and it's not a pretty sight.

I would like to do a bit of drag racing and don't want the risk of the same thing happening to mine.

Does anyone know or has heard of someone who mods them and where it's done?

Thanks in advance,

Rob

Our BF has a AP clutch, it running around the 320rwkw mark. Since Simon fitting it (replaced the stockie with an Xtreme paper weight and then in went the AP) it hasn't missed a beat. It gets it at the drags and track days both Mark & Deonie drive it. It's done well over 70 1/4 miles with this clutch and it still feels like the day it went in, no slipping.. Should have put this in first and saved some coin.

Rob we do believe that the plates an be changed and I'm sure Simon will let you know what can be done. mark is pretty sure it was OK til about 400rwkw

The friction plates aren't my worry, it's more so if the cast steel pressure and intermediate plates and the flywheel can be replaced with billet steel items.
