Evening,

Does anyone sell a battery tray to relocate to the factory airbox location?

I'm keen on the APS setup, but they don't sell items alone, just as a kit.

I will never replace my stock plenum, so I want something to fill that void.

cheers

I am also keen to do this.

You can buy a battery tray to fit that side but the problem I see is getting it bolted in to sit level. May need to do a bit of fab work to make it sit just right.

I am suprised that none of the established mod companies has gone this route before and made this available as a kit ( other than APS as already mentioned), as it makes sense to me to keep the standard battery rather than an odyssey type one if you are using your car as a daily driver.

After all, if you wake to a flat battery one morning when trying to leave home for work and you ring the NRMA/RACV/RACQ, etc, etc, for a replacement to get you off to work, they are unlikely to carry an Odyssey, so it becomes a convenience thing IMO.

Putting the battery on the other side sounds like a good idea, but most of the aftermarket coolers use this space to run there cold side pipes, and the battery would get in the way... Rapid has his battery relocation in the boot, and PW has his relocated in the bumper for that same reason I assume.. Nizpro relocates theres to the factory air box location, but that comes with the stage 2 kit $$$, but it does clear the cold side pipes..

For the 'normal' person who wants to keep there car stockish I reckon theres a good market for a kit like that.. I've got a battery tray, battery cables, and airbox ready for the swap, I just need a CAI and I can do it.. The hard part is finding a CAI that will fit as im running a wog cooler, and its tight with the factory cold side pipe and other bits and pieces in the way..

Cheers Mike..
