Hi people I have just brought a ba 2003 xr6t with 47000 kms on it and was wondering what sort of kw (power) can the standard 4 speed autos handle will they handle 300kw.

And also what small things can you do to improve kw.

I have heard exhaust upgrade can get you 10kw.

Thanks.

Here is a pic.

welcome to forum mate.

280rwkw is a safe bet with the 4sp auto...anything over then your playing with fire.

full exhaust + dump upgrade, big intercooler+piping, capa flash and 60lb injectors is all you need. if you do those you will need a worked auto as you will be about 320-340rwkw. Most likley need turbo to be ported, larger flapper mod and bigger actuator.

If you want to get 280rwkw, injectors, cooler and zorst + tune is all you need. Heaps of threads. Use the search function and good luck.

Great buy for 2003ba with only 47000km's!

at 280 rwkw I would also fit a tranny cooler ( approx $140)

I've been running 270rwkw for just over a year now, and it's only started slipping recently. Going in for a rebuild at the end of this month :runaway:
