September 21, 200323 yr #1 on the way into Darwin I had a young fellow try to drag me off in a Hyundai excel. THREE TIMES. I didn't noitice him on the first attempt, he tried again so I used half throttle, the third time I used the lot (up to the speed limit ) what's the story? do those stickers really make these cr@p boxes go faster?? If I had a car like that I'd hide! he was all serious, racing gloves gripping the wheel and bliping the throttle at the lights, SAD.
September 21, 200323 yr #2 Bah, not worth the fuel.I like it when I take of normally and I still get 3 - 4 car lengths by the time I hit the speed limit
September 21, 200323 yr #3 Ah that would of been the funnest thing ever lol, but the racing gloves that's a bit over the top there haha.
September 21, 200323 yr #4 The nomex gloves are so he doesn't burn his hands of his bowl of RICE !!!As with most crankers in that type of Fast Four and Bodykit, their ambition is confused with their ability......unless of course his Excel was a Twin Cam!
September 22, 200323 yr #5 Take noteI went to the Fast Fours and Rotaries Jamboree at Willowbank Raceway on Saturday. There were some seriously fast cars there eg. 2 litre turbo Datsun/Nissan Stanza pulling 10.08 sec 1/4 mile and it looked like a pile of cr@p complete with rusty front bumper bar.An RX7 series 4 doing 8.8 sec and it looked street legal. The slowest cars were doing 14 seconds. The moral of the story......... Never judge a book by it's cover, or you might be left looking a little red faced.Cheers Big AL
September 22, 200323 yr #7 Anything is fast when it is only pulling 650 to 800 kg's around. Even quicker on modern tyres and all wheel drive! When they get into the 11's from the factory with 3800lb weight (about 1700kg) on bias ply Goodyear Polyglas or Firestone Wide Ovals, then I will be impressed.Plymouth Road Runner 440 Six Pack, Plymouth 'Cuda Hemi 426, Dodge Super Bee 440 Six Barrel, Torino Cobra Jet 428C, SS396 Chevelle etc etcEven a fat ole' Dodge that weighs over 4000lb's, seats 4 adults in the back, two in the front (bucket seats) can still manage a low 13 on street tyres with a tall diff (3.23)
September 22, 200323 yr #8 on the way into Darwin I had a young fellow try to drag me off in a Hyundai excel. Should have let him win so he can tell his mates his 6 year old car beat a brand new BA Xr6 turbo.
September 22, 200323 yr #9 this happens to me a lot.my favotite thing is when the two lanes merge to one scenario. I usually give them a glimpse of hope and just before we merge, put myself in front. the drivers of the ricers hate it.
September 22, 200323 yr #10 G'day,I had one this morning, Five blokes in a '85 pulsar sedan! bouncing off the redline, wheelspin axle tramp the whole deal, and I've just sat there at the traffic lights watching him......And I still got to the next set of lights first, as did the Aussie post truck behind me!
