Fg 5Spd Auto

hey guys well the misses has a 09 build fg xr6 anyway it has already had one box replaced in it and this new box is doin it as well about 2,3weeks latter the problem is that when u go from r to p it clunks like its still under load now im just woundering iff anyone eles has this problem

Sounds unusual, but not very familiar with the 5 speed auto. Not parking on a hill by any chance?

Correct way to get to Park:

- from D or R, move to N

- Pull handbrake on

- Slowly release foot brake (making sure you don't roll anywhere)

- Put trans from N into P

Give that a go...

it does it on the flat and yes go to n hand brake up then p but still clunks like I said it has had a new box in it and still does it

did they put a new convertor in it ?

not sure mate I was under the imprestion that they just put a new box in so wat ever that includes I mite give them a ring this arvo and c wat they say

well gave them a ring on thursday and they did change the convertor.so I just let them no its doin it again and they said if its get any wers to bring it in

That box is from France they have external sensors on them maybe one of the sensors are playing up

oh true well I think the missus is taking it back next weekend so I will c wat they say but this time im goin to put a mark on the box to c iff they change it

Yeah my SEP09 G6 Lim Edit is doing the same thing. Severe clunk both into and out of neutral or park.

My vehicle also has a very annoying vibration whenever the lock up clutches lock up,, read constant vibration at cruise speed. Ford have declared that it is a "CHARACTORISTIC" of the 5SPD and that they will not do anything about it. Will see them in court if we have too,, unfortunately. Love the car in every other regard
