4Sp Trans Issue

Good Evening All,

Got an issue with my auto, the "D" is flashing on the dash, looked in my book and its a trasmission fault....

The trans got serviced a few weeks back and has been fine..

Is this going to be a major issue or just something small??

I ran a search but could not find anything on here.

Have you tried it again since you last drove it? How many times has this happened? Not uncommon for the car to go into limp mode and be perfectly OK after restarting it.

can you count the flashes? Could be a 'code'.

Like does it flash 3 times, stops for 2 seconds, then flashes 3 times again, stops, etc etc. Till its solid. Or is it just a constant flash.

My money is on faulty solenoid,get a reputable transmission w/shop to check with their diagnostic tool

Does the manual shift still work??? These things are common for breaking a wire at the connector near the PCM and cause the D to flash and tiptronic not to work. Its a yellow wire with a black trace from memory. Its the large connector that clips onto the PCM bracket and the wire breaks on the engine side of the connector right at the plug. Hard to explain where it is but mention it to the trans bloke if they cant find anything else.
