hey guys

got into a smash today, older man hit me in rear passenger quarter panel.

quarter panel and bumper are smashed, rim took most of the impact, the wheel alignment was bent so presuming the rear sway bar, possibly axle is bent/damaged.

im insured with aami so I wanted to ask, im pretty sure they have there own set of accredited panel beaters & mechanics for there insurance jobs, does anyone know of any, and if so, ones that are good and wont make a mess of it?

I really feel uncomfortable letting anyone else do my car, as my brother in law is a panel beater, and my uncle and cousins mechanics :(

its a really crap feeling not being able to get them to fix it.

where abouts are you? Here in Sydney they have their own repair centre at Seven Hills and their work is top notch and service second to none.

Very good to deal with

Found with AAMI that some of our repairs over the years have been pretty ordinary and have had to be sent back for rectifications (bad colour matching, paint imperfections etc.which was a bit disappointing as the vehicles were repaired and sent back to AAMI (Norwest) for final inspection and slipped past their quality control. We have had other repairs done through them that have been top notch however , so it seems a bit hit and miss at times. My answer in the past few years is to get the repairer of my choice to repair the vehicle, however he is not on AAMI's repairer list so I have to go there for a quote myself and then they (Nathans) send the quote to AAMI. If however the price is dearer than the other prices that AAMI get when I take it for initial inspection then I pay the difference. I've been lucky so far as my repairers pricing has been in line with AAMI authorised repairers pricing and have not had to pay the difference yet. I know AAMI repairs are guaranteed for life and they will keep you informed to the progress of your repair but it can get annoying when you have to take your vehicle back for a second time and be inconvenienced by losing your vehicle for longer than was necessary in the first place. Have now got a couple of my vehicles with NRMA where I do have a choice of repairer and found them fine with our first incident on one of my work trucks. They are a few dollars dearer than AAMI in my experience but happy to pay for a bit of piece of mind.
