Great job! That option "puddle lights" was an option on my previous car (E87 120i) and it cost me a small fortune. You've done almost the same thing for a minute fraction of the cost.

Does the light extend to the floor leading up to the door? That's what the intended purpose of the lights on the bimmer. So you don't step in a pile/puddle before entering the car.

Bit of a wild question/idea, could you hook this up to the underside of the car like the side skirts? And when you unlock the doors and the interior light comes on the whole car lights up around? (cant explain very well this early in the morning)

I cant see why you cant mcinnes.

Have a look at these, a mate has put them on his BF under the door into the drain plug. He said it was easy to do. Looked ok but not to everyones taste I guess.
