Abnormal Idle After Spark Plug Change And Throttle Body Clean

Hi Guys,

Changed my spark plugs on my 05 ba mk2 xr6t and my idle is all over the place sounds like its missing?

would anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

I have cleaned the throttle body and also reset computer by taking neg terminal off.

The car drives fine its just on idle.

R the gaps on your plugs correct? What plugs did u use? Check the coil packs are ok and reconnect them.

Did you place the plugs in the holes nicely or drop them in the holes.

If you dropped them then there's a fair chance the electrode has been bent and is touching the inner electrode causing a dead short and no spark.

Wouldn't be the first time it's happened if you did.

I used the BKR6EIX plugs with 0.8 mm gap.

I didn't drop them in the holes as my spark plug socket is magnetic.

I went over the car again and check that the coils were on properly.

all ok

any other options??

could I have some error code that needs to be erased?

Maybe one of the plugs is screwed. To check its not a coil, replace your new plugs with your old ones. if the problem goes, then you know it's one of the plugs. Then just swap 1 at a time, put the coil back on, plug it in and start it. Replace, repeat until you find the lil sucker that's not sparking

cleaning the throttle body on a lot of late model cars can also create idle problems.I would try borrowing a throttlebody off another car and trying it. On some latemodel cars ,you actually have to replace itif it has been cleaned incorrectly to fix the problem.
