Hey Guys,

I've just did the wastegate mod fitted with a 12lbs actuator(I hope!) & installed plazmaman's cooler too.

The car still has the stock exhaust & hasn't been re-flashed with all the new gear as yet.

What I found is boost comes up to 8psi then falls down to 6 at around 4k rpm.

I haven't connected the boost solenoid as the old tune was set at 12psi.

Now, is this normal for the pressure drop or is there something else wrong eg. Actuator, loose clamps, exhaust, tune, etc...

Cheers,

I had the same issue with mine... Obviously not a 12lb actuator! lol Dont worry, it will be fine after a tune....

Simple. You either must have a leak somewhere if it really has a 12 lb spring because that is the LEAST it can now run at or it ain't a 12lb spring.

Put pressure directly into it and see where it opens basicly. But yeah as everyone has said if it isn't that it is a boost leak, check all the intercooler piping and anything that taps into it, ie blow of valve, fuel pressure reg.....

Are you sure the wastegate is sealing properly since you increased the length of the actuator arm? Not trying to insult your intellegence but have to ask. If the engine is coming onto boost late aswell it could be this.

As a general rule if it is an adjustable actuator. For its base setting screw the rod in so its half a hole past sliding on. Nip it off with the locking nut. Pull the rod out and slid it over the pin. If it is too hard to pull out use an air blower to start actuating the can and slide the rod over the pin.

If this does not work check it is the right psi can.

After that start checking for leaks, blocked exhaust, Blocked air filter and tune.

Cheers,

Ricky.

Rick,

that's basicly what I did, kept the hole on the actuator rod half way before the wastegate pivort arm stud.

Boosts comes on perfectly, the transition between vac & 1lbs is alot quicker than the old stock act'or.

Cheers,
