hey guys,

for the last couple months my car has been beeping in the morning or the first time I drive it for that day. Doesn't matter if it's a long trip or short trip if it's the first drive of the day it can do it but doesn't do it everytime, I'd say 3 out of 5 times it would though. it's 4 loud beeps, it happens before I lock my car or even close my door but doesn't seem to happen until I open my door...the lights are off... I can't figure it out!! I hope it's not something stupid...these aren't just little beeps either there loud enough to scare the sh*t outta me the first time :nono: . Is there something wrong with my alarm?

My car is an 04 BA xr6t

hows your battery , some alarms will give you a warning if the volts are dropping and the battery is on the way out

Hmm, didn't think of that. I'm not sure how I would test that besides putting a new battery in and seeing if it still does it?

yeh not sure mate , I think you would need to test it some how when the car hasn't been running to see if the bat is dropping volts when it's cold , But yes another bat is probably the only real way to test it out , last bat I had lasted 4 years but usually anything over 3 years is reasonable life for a battery

see if you can borrow a good battery for a few days maybe

Anyone else got any ideas before I buy a new battery or go looking around for one??

Any help would be appreciated.

if its the battery, when you drive home from work tomorow get a volt meter across the terminals and check the voltage. Then in the morning check voltage again to see if its holding the charge overnight. If its dropped significantly get a new battery

G'day,

I have the same problem.

There are 4 sharp beeps coming from the engine bay when I switch off the engine. This happens say every 5-6 times that I switch off. They are not horn sounds and it happens with the doors opened or closed. I had some work done a while ago to the rear diff at a Ford dealer. They also changed my battery with a new one as they reckon the other one went flat (no charge). My problem started since then. I took the car back twice but they could not find anything. I took it to another dealer elsewhere but no luck. The second one suggested that it may be in connection to the alarm. He believed my alarm may be the problem, as to how and why he did not know. He also said since my siren is not mounted near the brake master cylinder it is not a factory fitted item and could not check further. I think on both occasions they could not be bothered helping.

It is not a big deal but it is very-very annoying as everything else is going fine.

I hope this may have helped.

Let me know how you go.
