Likely Causes Of 'check Engine' Light

Featured Replies

Does anybody know any likely causes of the check engine light?

I've switched back to the custom tune after the check engine light came on before which I assumed was because of the cat.

How do you know it's not the cat mate? Not being silly, but do you have any way of knowing that? I have heard of the cat being a bit of a problem in regards to engine lights...

Do you still have the problem when the car is running the "factory" Tune? (You're running a flash tune right?)

Could be some sort of blocked filter or sensor?

is it overheating or Doing anything else odd? Changed anything recently?

I restored the factory program a few weeks ago because the gear changes were too firm in the custom tune, then after about a week or so the light came on.

I assumed it was because of the cat so I just loaded the custom tune back on which removes the o2 sensor cat problem.

Then after another week or so the light came back on.

I ran out of petrol a few days before the light came on as well (my fault :P).

Other than that, I can't think of the problem.
