The BF and BF2 are the better models I believe, due to a revised rear end?

The body kit is also different between BA and BF, and the colour coding between the BF and BF2.

that's as much as I know, the real FPV buffs will know the rest :)

Hi, probably best to narrow down your search first of all... You after auto/manual? If auto forget about the BA's, cos they didnt come out auto, on the BF's did. Different colour coding, front and rear bumpers are different (personally like the look of the BF's better), Also the BF's came with 4pot brembo's standard, 6pot is an option, Internals (engine area), some BF's came with different styles of Rims, mainly in the BF MKII(like the twisted alike and dark agent ones were on), that's all I can think of...

If your after modding and doing performance work to it probably everyone agree and say definately go for the BF MKII, I believe they handle more power... Hmmm, yeh that's about it...

transmission doesnt really bother me I just want something that I can do a few mods to. does anybody know exactly what has changed mechanically on the cars I know there is a cosmetic change and maybe a brake upgrade but as far as I know that’s it are there any changes to the internals in the motor or the gear box.

Or are they the exact same car with new bumpers. Also I have found a john bowe signature series Ba F6 are these any good cheers guys I would like to get a good response because I have been told mixed things about these models.

Engine is the same all through F6 series (upgraded short block).

It will be the same block as what you had in your BF II XR6T built after 6/06.

Only changes are larger cooler and engine oil cooler added for all F6 engines

over XR6T engines.

I think BF II F6 get the chunky steering wheel as standard sa well

I bought a BF Mk II a couple of months ago responded really well to minor mods, a great package all round.

see the attached spec sheet for whats included, basically everything except the 6 pot brembos, sat nav & leather is included.

also I dont know where you are shopping around but dont be afraid to look interstate, I had mine shipped down from darwin and got an awesome deal and they covered the transport to newcastle. A slight risk buying a car you have not seen in person but I bought it from a ford dealser and it still has new car warranty on it. If you were really worried interstate airfares are pretty cheap these days..

good luck in your car hunting mate

Thanks mate looks good, I have been doing more research and I am still getting mixed ideas about the main differences between them for example why does everybody seem to pull more power out of the bf typhoons and the bfs seem to do quicker quarters stock than the Ba typhoons. I was reading on this forum that some guy had valve spring problems at only 250kw with the ba does the ba typhoon have weak valve springs like the ba xr6 is there any mechanical difference between them. I like the look of the Bas over the Bfs but if there not as good then I will get a BF from what I take on the matter is that ba to bf front and rear bumper upgrade with standard Brembos that’s it can some one confirm this

Cheers

Most of the quicker BF's have the ZF 6 speed automatic gearbox.

The manuals need a very good driver to get the most out of them.

The automatic will hold boost between gear changes while the manual will dump boost.

I belive that valve springs can be a bit hit and miss even between similar build date cars.

If you really want a manual then a BA F6 with optioned brakes would be nice and not as

common as the BF F6.

But if you want the ZF auto then BF is the only way to go.

Think I remember reading somewhere that the bf mkII has the rspec suspension the shocks are 2" shorter then the standard BF ones or something
