Brembo's or AP's all the way! .. and IMHO I think a nice red set of 6 piston brembo's behind stock or aftermarket wheels look better than pink rice -

And they also serve a purpose, to allow you to do front flips at will when you stand on the breaks heh

There is one story I read where the owner fitted these to his car for some R&D. One day on the street, the calliper mounting bracket snapped. Ever heard of that happening to a Brembo, AP Racing, Wildwood or PBR brake system?

may as well get some D2 Coilovers too, they are great.......until the piston snaps. LOL.

There are lots of crappy chinese 8 piston calipers around.......number of pots means fark all really.......first and foremost key is friction material, and then heat dissipation, and then more pistons are good as they allow even force application across the pad. However, for practical purposes on same size rotor and same size pad, 4-6-8 stop just as hard......if they are good that is. The only difference would be pad wear get a little more uneven as you take pots out.......its really noticeable on 1 piston jobs that see track use.

If you want a car for go and show, then buy the D2's as they are under 1/2 the cost of Brembos.

But if you want your car to stop, do not buy this chinease junk. Do not even compare them to AP or Brembo as they are nothing like them in performance or quality.

When I hit my middle pedal, I want to know it will work, not hope it will work because I cheapend out on my ricey calipers.

There is a good write up about a skyline track car that used them and the caliper braket material expanded and the bolts came loose. One actually fell out!! 6 piston brembo's are the pick for XR's.....a better selection of wheels would be nice though!

No speaking from personal experience, but being a member of several forums and also a regular at track days, I have heard many horror stories about these calipers.

The old saying is you pay for what you get. I like my 6/4 Brembos and know they will stop me when I want them to and will also put up with a solid track day's use. My last set of pads lasted me 22,000km.

that's OK if you like a two piece design Caliper

Mono block is the way to go
