Hi All,

I've just turned over 23,000km (with the stock 18" Dunlops) and I think my rears will be gone by 30,000.

I've already had one tyre replaced due to a series of leaks and am running my spare and the new one on the front, so at 30,000 I'll put them on the back anf get a new front pair.

Marangoni Mythos sound good for grip and noise, but how are they holding up for life?

Gday,

I am interested in peoples suggestions as well, particularly regarding a tyre which has good life and is quiet. I have my second set of 18' dunlops from factory, and I agree they are way too noisy on the open road.

Mythos are an awesome tyre. :innocent:

How long have you had them?

How are they lasting compared to the Dunlops?

I agree they are way too noisy on the open road.

I dunno what it is with Dunlop, but this cr@p with their noisy tyres isn't the first time for me.

Years ago a mate and I got new EF Falcons at the same time.

Mine was with the ever faithful Bridgestone RE92's (one of the all time classic tyres in my books) and his somehow got Dunlops.

The difference in noise was absolutely astounding.

His sounded like a Landrover with bar treads compared with mine. Both of us couldn't believe the A/B comparison.

It must absorb a lot of the Dunlop R&D budget making certain the every tyre in the range is as irritating as possible

I've just replaced the rear tyres on the 'phoon a few thousand km ago and got 30k out of the 19" Marangonis Mythos. I'm now running Maxxis MAZ-1 and they would be very a comparable tyre for noise and grip only cheaper.

I agree with Locomick.

I've got 245/40/18 Michelin PP2's.

Put them on at 35,000. Up to 50,000 and they still look brand new.

Very quite, stick like glue and give great road feel.

I am running some Falken ZE192 on my T and have found them to be pretty good...no noise at all and not badly priced. I also have some Maxxis MAV-1's on my MX5 and find they wear really good but do suffer bad tyre noise at about 60-65kph. Just stick with a good brand if you want the best of both worlds.....or get some Nexens.........hard as and no grip...great for burn outs :smilielol:
