Posted 27/08/03 05:32 AM Posted 27/08/03 05:32 AM Well Trend Setters, went and spoke to my dealer Lane Ford in Mandurah about the crunching 5th gear, after speaking to Skip at John McCgrath Ford Woden (thanks CFlat) he was a mine of info. The service guy made one phone call to the gearbox manufacturer and guess what.......Mine was the 4th call today about the exact same problem. It seems the problem is across the whole Falcon range, not just us T owners (whew!!, I think )Anyhow the good news........new box on order, should take about a month, I can wait.

Booked in for next Tuesday to get fitted along with 15000km service. Not bad, averaging 5000kms per gearbox! Maybe T5 relates to the number of gearboxes you get with each car? The helpful dude at the dealer isn't sure whether anything has changed in the replacement box, or if it is just another rebuild. Guess I'll know in a few weeks if it's onother sh*tter!Let ya know.CiaoCFlat
