Hey LLV, I was 18 when I got my T and for the first 2 years I had been pulled over a couple times 4 random check up's and never had an issue about driving the car. It was until this 1 local undercover cop who was a real tight ass and when he pulled me over he fined me and said I cant drive this car till im off my p's. He didnt even let me drive the car back home, had 2 call my brother 2 pick it up and swap cars cause the cop was floating around the area and said he'll impound me if I move it from where it was. Im in VIC as well, so if you do decide 2 get a T just be careful. Some cops will let you go but if you find 1 car that doesnt, its a pain in the ass lol. Good luck with it all anywayz.

So what did he fine you for that he wouldn't let you drive it home?

thanks for the advice marty, I definately understand what you're talking about.

I've been driving for 2 yeras now and would liek to think im a very conservative driver. I never do anythign stupid, and it won't change if I get a nice car. I just dont' understand why young hoons, or anyone for that matter push their cars past the limit to the point where it puts them in an extremely dangerous situation.

Maybe for a hoon, young or old there are certain traits that come with the territory:

selfishness

overconfidence

stupidity

inexperience

recklessness

no respect for life

The list can go on.

hey PHANTMXR6 he fined me 4 driving the car which was $113 if I remember right and wouldnt let me drive it home cause ill be breaking the law by driving it. that's pretty much what his reason was cause I asked him can I just take the car home and he said no.

In the past, their was also a multiplication factor for engine size, regarding forced induction on engine transplants. I wonder if there is something simliar with the restrictions on ltr per ton for 'p' platers. It used to be something like x 1.4.

Damo

that's what I thought, otherwise, any p-plater could happily drive a skyline GTR, a wrx, evo, f6.... and laugh when the cop says "you can't drive that" and you simply quote the engine capacity... VicRoads are not that stupid.

Its pretty simple... IF you put yourself in a position to get caught, eg cut laps of town on fri/sat nights & hoon around... then odds are you will get caught and questioned about your T. Lay low and choose your bursts wisely, you'll be cherry ripe.

So if you are very conservative driver, why would you need a car that gets to the legal speed limit of 110km/h in about 7 seconds when a standard falcon will do it in 9 seconds??

Anyone who says they wont drive differently if they get a Turbo car is kidding themselves..

That Vic roads thing doesnt seem correct, how many cars are over 3.5L per tonn?

That means p-Platers can drive just about every turbo car..
