February 17, 200917 yr #1 Hi Guys,I have a rather long scratch on the rook of my blue T and I was wondering what would be the best way to remove it? it isn't that deep it deems like it has only gone through the clear coat/coats.Can it be buffed out or will it need some professional work done on it?I will try and get a pic later on when I get home that shows itCheers,Tim
February 19, 200917 yr #2 Howdy - my names Lenny and I like paint It really depends on the depth of the defect. You have a basecoat, colour coat and then the clear coat. If it's through the clearcoat your always going to notice it and it may need to be repainted. You may also be able to minimise how visable it is by polishing it so the edges of the scratch become rounded instead of sharp. Using some abrasive lish and a random orbital polisher will achieve this. Basically this causes light to disperse and scatter when it's reflected instead of being reflected in a more concentrated noticable way. You may also be able to use a filler to backfill the defect further minimising it.If you post a pic people may better be able to help.
