Mate - much much much better looking setup then the first one with all Rockford and Jaycar gear you were thinking of in the beginning...

btw - read post #10 - cap about 200$ -/+

:idunno:

and try not to load up your CC bud... well not my recommendation!

may as well rob the little lady walking into the bank - and out the money to good use on your car... fark knows that's what the banks about to do to her anyways...

(just joking, please dont rob anyone or anything... )

hey smicky dude ive changed my thoughts a bit lately, went out listened to quite a bit of gear, really like that Focal stuff, quality is very good.

What amp would u reckon to pair with a set of 165VR focal splits, I was looking at grabbing an Infinity Reference Series 4 channel amp.

I also listened to some of the focal subs, damn they just blended in so nicely with the splits, definitely considerin one of them too (the 27V2).

Dude,

165VR - nice speaker... I thought you had already ordered RF's....

Anyways -

Specs:

Nor Imp.: 4 Ohm

Nor: 75W

Max: 150w

Look to get urself an amp that is going to produce around 90-100 watts min (nominal RMS) @ 4 ohms!

Infinity have a Kappa 4 amp from memory which will do the trick...

Please read the thread pinned at the top of the section which explains how to match an amp and why...

If your not going to play with the tone settings - ie bass/treble then the 4ch reference should be fine... Remember its up to you and how you are going to be playing your music...

Hey Deadly Dude, might want to revise your $2.5k budget if you're looking at the Focal gear. :nyaah:

Yeah that budget is out the window atm, looking to do it in two stages now. Will do the 4 speakers inside, 4ch amp, RF module (if its not easy to add a h/unit to an FG) first, then 2nd stage will be the sub, mono amp, capacitor. :)

If you can afford the cost and the time, it would be advisable to run all your cables at once. Saves removing the interior twice.

Yeah that was my thoughts, have it set up so all ill have to do is add the other parts to the boot for the 2nd stage and thatll be it. thanks for mentioning it though :)
