Hi all, a while ago the lock in a rear door clapped out and wouldn't lock with remote. I disconnected the exterior door handle so my car was secure. My car was semi detailed and in the process the bloke doing it put the child proof lock on.

So I have no connected exterior door handle, and the interior does nothing.

Will I ever be able to open this again lol, need ideas here. Gonna try and probe for the child proof switch but will be hard

mate, its not going to be an easy task to get that door open, best of luck probing for the child lock, because failing that will almost definately mean you will need to damage something to get her open...

Hi Mickaj,

I did the same thing when I have my AU. I'm pretty sure the BA should be the same. If you pull the cushion on the side of the rear seat away from the door (can't remove it) you should be able to just see the child lock switch. I used a long flt screw driver to get at it, about 10 inches long. Be careful though, as it was easy to scratch the paint on the door jam.

Good luck with it.

Cheers,

Ben

that's a great idea, would be good if it works. would be afraid to have it bend the seats frame a bit, but if its gotta be done then you have no choice I guess.

I guess you can always check out the other rear door and get a feel for where the child lock is, and see if you will be able to access it though that gap before you start poking around

Try the packing plastic that's normally around boxes. Its a thick woven tape about 1cm wide and 1mm thick.

Ideal for breaking into cars and would slide in the gap nice and easy and not scratch the paint I think.

Maybe that or a icecream container that you can cut into a strip to do it the same way.

Just a few ideas I guess

forgot to mention, you will need to remove the flexible trim that goes around the door jam. it should come off fiarly easily, that will give you a bit more open access. I could see mine when I shone a torch.
