"When did you place your order?"

I placed an unconfirmed order with Etheridge Ford in early July as I could not decide between Auto & Manual and ofcourse the colour. I was at the time quoted by some dlrs 3 - 4 mths waiting time. Etheridge mentioned 2 should see me with one. After placing the official order at the start of the month they said they had allocation for a couple in Sept. I was in no hurry as I have a couple cars to sell to make room for " Da Beast".

Did I mention I received a call from them in mid July informing me I could pick up one the same week similar to my wish list as a customer cancelled his order !!!! But the options were not the same.

When I hear some guys up north are waiting up to 6 mths I realize how lucky some of us are.

Cheers

I agree, I was lucky to have a pre-ordered car from the dealer which cut down the wait time by 8 weeks. This is for a retail private sale ( which is more profitable for the delaer ). If you are a fleet customer, you get given last allocation for the builds and a national fleet customer, you get shat on from a great height and are last in the pecking order. This is consistent with most of this site as most delays happen for fleet orders. The exception to this is if a part is understocked ( like premium audio at the moment ) which means you wait until the part is available.

The good news in this is that my car goes into paint today and will be delivered to the dealer on the 29th August... can't wait, went for another test drive today. Woo hoo .....

Must of Fluked it !!! ordered 17 March through Company Fleet Management Co. Delivered 16 May complete with Tints and Prem Audio.

Great fleet discount too. Demand must have really gone through the roof lately .This site certainly has made it's contribution.

No gloating intended , just happy to have had the extra time at the wheel.
