Bluetooth Potential Problem

Has anyone tried to use a IPhone with the Bluetooth yet?, I have been using a motorola v9 and everything works perfectly, so I bought an Iphone, I can make calls perfectly but when I have an incoming call it does not recognise it nor can I answer it. The Iphone is listed as compatable by Ford.

I now have an Iphone that I cannot use.

Thanks

Im not trying to be smart here at all but just stating incase you had not checked.

The iphone is compatible but only with the latest software update.

Have you been to your dealer and had the software updated?

the iphone 3g and motorola v9 are both using btv2.0 but the v9 supports a2dp as where the iphone dosn't.

I am unsure how the fg bt kit works. but if its a2dp kit where the phone has to push the ringtone out to the car kit for it to recognise that its having an incoming transmission then yeah iphone wont work. but nevertheless mjh is most probably right - software upgrade.

on the v9 when you have an incoming call does it play the phones ringtone or the car just says "incoming call"? also on the iphone (dumb thing but worth checking) see if visibility is enabled in your bt options or if times out after a certain time. also (long shot) see if another one of your mates has a iphone - create the partnership to see if it has the same thing to determine if it is the handheld or the kit.

There is no publicly published list that I am aware of however your dealer will be able to tell you.

Awesome mate, let us know if it works or not.

One thing to keep in mind as well, and this is something I learnt with my iPod rather than iPhone, when the computer asks do you want to update the software on your phone, the car wont recognise it.

When I bought my iPod it worked fine but then I updated the software on the iPod and it didnt work at all. So had to revert back to the original software.

I know that has nothing to do with bluetooth but thought just incase you ran into trouble with it.

thanks but bad news...

I got the update done and the iphone 3G with the car is a bit more reliable than it was. it still does this crazy thing where the call jumps from the cars bluetooth back to the phone over and over so that you can never actually speak or listen. It either does that or the phone and the car just don't communicate at all and the phone is the only option.

the problem with ipod touch jumping two songs is also still there.

I'm sure they did update it though because previously unreadable track names (symbols) have gone from

this:

"No Name"

to this:

" nema"

rather than:

"Aenema" with some accentuation thingo on the A and the e

I hope they are still working on fixes... maybe even greater compatibility with the car too. Perhaps its that I'm using software ver 2.2... dunno but its starting to give me the sh#ts..

Howdy everyone,

I am now considering a iPhone and wondering if they have finally worked out a update for it to work properly?

Has anyone had any success to date?

Bad news Im afraid! I have the latest updates (Ford assures me) and the problems are still there. I am a bit of a phone junkie and have a few sitting around the house and have tested most with the FG and all with the exception of the iPhone work very well.

The problem is with the iPhone...not the FG. Problem is I like my iPhone too much to change it.
