Running Out Of Idea's

I have a standard 2003 XR6T with a K&N Filter, I am experiencing long power hesitation and continuous back firing in the higher rpm range, I have replaced the plugs with the NGK Iridiums with a 1.1 gap and all the coils, I have done the boost solenoid maintenance as described on here, I have just read, a fuel filter, this happens in D or held in the gears, ive even tried with traction on and off, there doesnt seem to be any odd sounds from the engine back, is there anything else I should be looking at next.

Do you still have the little rubbers that hold the coils down on the plug? They sit inside the rocker cover garnish and have been known to go missing, when under full throttle the coils can jump off the plugs

Yes - these were pointed out in the instructions I got off here, all in there!

hmm, that's a bit strange... did you say you had done the fuel filter or not yet?

No not yet - will pick one up tomorrow, can someone point me to a forum where it explains where it is and what is involved, I havent found a manual yet! no doubt its an inline filter with a hose at each end, I'll go have a look for it, slowly getting to understand where everything is, working on motorcycles is a lot simpler.

The fuel filter is on the passenger side mounted to the chassis rail. It has solid lines and they can be a pain to undo, especially when its close to the ground. Failing that, I would be looking towards the fuel pump itself, that's another posibility

Ah yes, I saw that when I was dragging myself around underneath changing the oil filter

gk I recon senna could be on the money you may have a fuel pump issue its not uncomon.

try the filter first and c how u go

take it to one of the sites sponer tuners

they all get great right ups and deal with these

What sort of PSI should the factory pump be pushing, is it regulated at some point, if so what sort of PSI after its been regulated, I'll go looking for the pump tonight whilst I do the filter, general direction anyone, please dont say in the tank
