Changing Oxygen Sensor

Featured Replies

#1

I bought a new oxygen sensor ($60 off ebay) and I was looking at changing it myself but its seems like a real tight spot (BA xr6t) and I can't get any sort of spanner on there. A guy from the ford service dept said you have to take all the heat shields off to access it... Is this true or can I get it with a small shifter or something else.

cheers

you'll only have to take the rear heat shield off, this takes about 1 minute. One of those ratchet ring spanners comes in handy here!

nah, if you have the standard crossover on there, take the two pipes off that go over the manifold side, then undo the threee bolts you need to take off the heatshield and this should give you a bit better access to the o2 sensor
