Hey guys,

I love the look of the BF MKII Rims and I was looking on ebay and found these.

They do them in both 18" and 19" (Both x 8 I think...) Were the genuine rims 19"?

I just wanted to know if rims like this, being copies and from ebay, are a decent product? Last thing I want is to piss a grand against the wall for these...

Also - what sort of $$ am I looking at for a set of mid-range tyres?

Thanks for the help,

Dan

The old saying is that you pay for what you get.

They are selling 4 rims for the price Ford sell one.

I would always be weary of anything that cheap being fitted to a car, as you could never trust they are going to hold up.

If they break it could be a massive incident and eBay sellers tend to lack the insurances needed to sue them.

Wheelmags is a sponsor on Ford Forums, and has a retail shop. Those and the other copies are on many vehicles with little to no problems with them.

FPV crank up the prices on their products, every manufacturer does.

I wouldnt hesitate.

:furious:

They can't be that bad. And we all know how fraud and FPV price their parts. A few members have posted comments over at Australian Ford Forums. Have a look. I have never used them myself, but at $980 a rim for Dark Argents that's well and truly a rip off IMHO.

There would be no comparison when it comes to the quality of these Chinease wheels in relation to the OEM FPV ones.

The risk of wheel failure would be significantly increased as they are not subjected to the same levels of quality control, engineering and testing.

I myself would never risk my life and the life of my family on skimping on such a critical part on my car. I also believe the same is true with the crap D1 8pot brakes that are being sold cheap on eBay.

Just because they look the same, does not mean they are the same.

Add to that, where do most OEM wheels come from too?

Alloy wheels are soft in general and can be damaged easily, I've seen plenty of Ford and Expensive Daewoo OEM rims that are smashed after being hit up a bump or after an accident et al.

If you want to be 100% sure of the quality of your rims, use steel or billet, neither of which are offered OEM by Ford in their 'mag' range.

I say buy them, and ignore the negative comments about how they are inferior to the already average FPV products.
