June 6, 200818 yr #1 just a quick question how much damage does it take to write off a car these days somebody smashed into mine while parked here are a few pics and also about how much would it cost to fix if anybody has any ideas cheers . also it has a small indent in the roof from the smash a little rattle coming from the diff and a small dent in the front 1/4 panel drivers side Edited June 6, 200818 yr by trevs
June 6, 200818 yr #2 Man that sucks Doubt that would be a write-off. Depending on you insurer, but they usually start having second thoughts once it hits around 50% of the car’s value. Was there any damage to the rear suspension? Did the mongrel stop and leave details?Best of luck with it
June 6, 200818 yr #3 Author yeah cops got him p plater so the repair is free just interested in what ppl think it will cost to repair more a pain in the ass than anything else and the rear is fine besides the diff noise Edited June 6, 200818 yr by trevs
June 6, 200818 yr #4 go to a ford wrecker get a new rear door, and get that dent taken out of the back quater and it shouldn't be to bad at all... I no when my car got backed into.. the panel beater said it would cost about 2k .. it cost me 400$
June 6, 200818 yr #6 Author nope im aware of that ill f*ck it off after its repaired and buy something else maybe a new turbo they look alright . its insured for 32 grand so im guessing anything below about 15 grand and they will repair it .
June 6, 200818 yr #7 Well mine was 4500, but they still havent fixed the diff... which is worse now, so it will cost more than it would have if they did it right in the first place. They also now have to redo 80% of the other work, since the quality of repair was sh*t.So I would say yours would be closer to 8-10g.Felix
June 6, 200818 yr #8 Author 8 to 10 so im guessing ill be getting it repaired then aami arent gonna pay me 20 grand extra for nothing Edited June 6, 200818 yr by trevs
