What Sort Of Power Mods Would $4000 Get You?

Hello everyone

I'm a long time listener but first time poster. I have just bought a stock BF Xr6T UTE and I have $4000 left over to spend on the engine. I have done a bit of searching, and have looked at most of the power mods threads and they have alot of info on what to get to achieve a certain power figure etc, but not much info on how much it costs. If anyone could give me a rough estimate on what $4000 would get me it would be very much appreciated.

Cheers in advancer guys,

Damo

Have you got a manual or an auto? If you got a manual the clutch replacement will take a chunk out of that 4k.

Are you going to install the parts yourself, and your choice of tuner will also reflect the price you pay for tune work.

Once you buy a clutch and have it installed you will probably have enough change left over for a CAPA box, injectors and tune. Might be able to get a high flow cat installed in with some change, depends on how much the labor on the clutch install is worth and what type of injectors you go and how much you get charged to tune it. Powerwise, with stock exhaust and intercooler you might see about 260-270rwkw with the stock intercooler and exhaust. If you didn't have to factor in the cost of a clutch you could do a proper highflow cat, and a decent intercooler with that $$$$ and you will see 300rwkw no problems.

Im with fatsex and gonna say get a good clutch first.

I went the opposite way and im still stock. Over the last few months I have attained a flash box, intercooler and UBP, injectors, fuel pump, valve springs but have not fitted them... Iv been advised that it would really be a wasted tune and that the stock clutch wont hold so im looking to buy a clutch now so I can get everything installed to max potential once and not have to have a low tune so the stock clutch can handle the power and then once getting a new one go in for a retune...

So, if I were to do it again, I would start with the clutch and get whatever power mods you can with the money left over... and then build from there.

Ahhh yes I forgot you will also need a fuel pump with injectors as dirty32 suggested.

I have had a manual 6 speed T before and the stock clutch couldn't hold the extra power just given with stock injectors. They really are a weak unit. But in saying that you could probably buy all the parts I have listed above for 300rwkw and just have to save some extra coin for install and tune.

I was told by a good source that that the BF MKII T56 Gearbox and clutch setup standard was enough to hold up to 280 to 300rwkw provided you didn't do 4 grand launches every 5 min like you were racing at calder???

that's what I thought too. Start saving and once she lets go get a better clutch.
