I wish I was when I got my Pulsar SSS. On the scheduled services I would tell the dealership that reverse gear was a problem. They said they checked, and nothing wrong. I'd remind a few more times at other services and they said there was no problem. After a while I thought that it was maybe just the standard gearbox thing. Then when the warrenty went out, a few months later my second gear would pop out every now and then under deseleration. I took it to them, they tested and fault didn't repeat. I then just gave up... Bad thing. the Gearbox shat itself and I was up for a $3500 rebuild (labour was the killer). I got my dad (who is a way better negotiator than I am) to call Nissan Australia. After quite a few phone calls to them etc, nissan said 50/50. We agreed and that was that. Then a few weeks after picking it up 1st gear would sometimes pop out. I took it to the dealership and they couldn't see how it would happen (considering that it was a "new" gearbox). Then after going back and forth and guess what. They saw that the engine mounts were sagging and all they did was adjust one of the mounts that aligns the motor and Problem Solved. Basically, my gearbox shat itself (2nd gear to be exact) because the motor was slightly out of alignment because of the sagging engine mounts. Since then no problems. Oh... Apart from the clutch fork breaking and costing me quite a few hundred dollars to get fixed. That was the final thing that made me decide to go and put a deposit on the XR6 T Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/4597-am-i-being-too-fussy/page/2/#findComment-36557 Share on other sites

In the end I ended up getting an engine re-build cause it was drinking more oil than a piston slapper... Reminds me of my current problem... Wheel alignment because of brake shudder (at least I think it is) (I can only imagine what it will do to the life of my tyres on my high speed trips).3. Rattling noise when idling (Was told it was the heat shielding around the exhaust)4. High oil usage, topped it up twice since I got the car (at 3500kms now), also want an oil change5. High petrol usage (no smart ass comments please)6. Surging in reverse gear7. Car stalled on me 5 times, why and is this bad for it?8. Front drivers side blinker doesnt work9. Change from 1st - 2nd, 2nd - 3rd and vice versa are really harsh, I get knocked around when the change occurs (in all modes)These problems I would like fixed, but are not urgent10. Whistle from sunroof over 90km/ph11 Plastic on drivers side rear pillar broken when car kit was installed by dealer's contractor12. Interference between mobile phone and stereo (I was assured by the installer that it is not normal)13. Alternator or Turbo whine through rear speakers14. Scratches on body noticed when car was picked up15. Slight imperfection on metal work above drivers side tail light16. Scratches on Sunroof glass (I was told it wasn't tinted, but is a darker glass so nothing can be done) 1. Disks machined2. Problem gone with disk machining3. Heat sheilds around exhaust tightened4. Will be put on a consumption test when I get back from my trips. They put some new Shell Fully Synthetic oil in the engine. I don't know why they used synthetic oil, but anyway they even gave me 2L spare incase I needed it.5. Will see if the computer update will fix this6. Computer update applied, haven't had the problem yet7. refer to 68. Fixed9. See if it gets worse as when the service guy took it out he didn't think it was a prob. Next time I'll make sure I'm there10. Consulting Ford11. Cover is on backorder12. I need to call the guy who installed it13. Consulting Ford14. 1 scratch fixed, forgot to do the others I mentioned15. I'll let this one slide16. Will get glass replaced next time I'm in. Might even fix my whistling noise. Can't remember what he called it.Also said some thing (which I think is crap), there is only one tool to fix this in NSW, and it is rotated from dealer to dealer...Also reckons it iwll take over 3 - 4 days :(Will get it checked out after this weekend if they can get the tool!!!
