Guys

This is the same problem I had almost 12 mths ago the problem after much testing was a BAD / POOR waste gate modification. As soon as I got the job done properly boost came under control.

Nice edit there Jimmy....

No big deal in that, it would be written in one to two seconds with a good cad/cam package....

Infact I'd say it would be LESS than 10 lines of code......

Even if it was 10-15 pages of code once its written its only a matter of adjusting offsets for any new or differing profiles/cutters, the programme only needs to be written once and saved to HD then transfered to the machine when needed.

It's just an in out operation....nothing like this:

Seemed like I was taking sides but I wasnt. I think that there are some good points to each argument and the funny thing was it was just a hose off the boost controller that caused the overboosting! :shakefist:

I dont know why people were argueing,I just started a thread about how happy I was that I was gonna spend $800 or whatever for a externalgate/screamer pipe.

I could have used another company to do the origanal gate mods, but I had already waited 3 months for them to return a phone call about booking me in for an exhaust.... "the old ill get back to ya tomorrow". (they never called back)

You should still get the external then.

It doesnt matter who does what, where, when or how to the internal wastegate, its still never going to bring out the real potential of these turbos like a large external can.

I say do it, and hold on when the boost hits harder than it ever did!

whilst fatz and mucus-t were playing with thier flaps on saturday, I popped around to headsex's to clean up my tune and do some data logging after fitting an x-force 4"dump, 3.5" single.

we were excited to see the boost at an uncontrollable 20psi, even though my gates been ported to within an inch of its life! :spoton:

so im looking forward to getting an etm external wastegate and screamer pipe, and one of his remote turbo oil filters. :buttrock:

anyone else had this problem and had to chane to an external?

oh and envy-t, when you hear people talking about a fat poof, dosnt always mean their talking about you!! hahaha :spoton:

I havent really seen an argument, you asked if anyone has had this problem? and had to change to external? Now the technical data in relation to external gates and the process of porting an internal wastegate listed in this thread is just that, not an argument. I appreciate different opinions from workshops in the one topic. This is not an argument, just a FORUM.
