Biggest Tyres On Stock Rims?

hey guys,

just wondering wat are the limits of the stock 17 rims on the xr6t.. like in profile as well as width?

also wat does the front allow for because I heard the back can take a little fatter

The guys who run MT's seem to fit 275s on the stock 17s. So I can't see why you can't fit street tyres of this width on there.

When I asked the tyre shop that's soon to replace my tyres they said the biggest would be 265's but they would be hanging over the edge.

my tyre guy says I would need 8.5" rims to run 265's.

He's a Ford man and I trust his judgement so I stuck with 245's

yeah but theyre running about 14psi and they handle like sh*t around corners... if you want them to drive nice and wear correctly, not throw skids, id stick with 245`s. sticky rubbber is better than wider rubber, quieter, handles better.

What about my 19s? Does anyone know if I can go bigger in the rears to like 255 or 265?

you CAN go bigger as anyone can, like was said before, you CAN put 275`s on them. But stuff that for a daily driven tyre... it wont ride or wear correctly, and it wont handle as well around corners etc...

if your rims are still 8" wide, then I would stick with 245`s regardless of your rim diameter otherwise the tyre wall is too far from perpandicular to the road and looses its stiffness accordingly.

Guess I'll just have to go with some stickier tyres...

Is there a sticky tyre that isn't as soft as sh1t that anyone recommends?

Sticky and Soft go hand in hand. You cannot find a sticky tyre that does not wear quick.

I like my Yokie Advan v103's and they have lasted for 20,000km which is great wear for my style of driving.
