I think you need to earn about $20000 per anum in order to then claim any losses. that means you will need to get at least one job almost every weekend @ $400 a pop. Dont think there is that much demand for a Falcon as a wedding car. Maybe a GT If you advertise enough. Best bet is to simply put the word out that you want this type of work and keep it as a word of mouth business and make a few quid here and there. If you get pulled up you can just say that you are doing it as a favour for a mate, wheras if you try and advertise to get more business, then you will need to get the relevant licences/permits otherwise it will be easy for the authorities to prove you are doing this as a business and not as a favour.

I think Tax man might have a thing to say about it

Respective State road authorities would like commercial vehicle registration as well.

I appreciate the responses... What about people who set up their businesses, machinery etc. They never see any sales day 1, of course you can claim your capital costs now..

Whats the difference if one of us asked a favour and organised for a few Ts to turn up somewhere and be used for a wedding as a favour... Do you need a hire car permit??? For 1 wedding... Most T's would probably only get a handful of jobs every year, the more popular T's may be a little more busy but even a few thousand in your hand every year would be nice...

Someone would have to take the punt to market it, but there would be no cost for the T's as we all could ask for a pyament from this person as the car is needed.... So its primary purpose is not weddings or hire but private use... Lucky if you would do 500km per year hire purposes vs 20000km normally commuting...

Cash is king... If money was exchanged who would know... The price would be attractive enough to be able to ask for cash... Credit cards, they can get a cash advance...

The point Im trying to make is that as a T driver, wouldnt you like to simply get a call from (the organiser) and say need your T for 6 hours here. Can you do it. Yep, clean it up, heres $500 thankyou very much... Drive home...

I agree, no need to make a big fuss about it as long as you could do it quietly, but you would have to promote it somehow and that might get authorities interested, if you can get it promoted and organized quietly everyone is happy.

Some people who posted above think its like an underbelly, underground operation...

If it were to get some momentum then someone could set it up properly...

Maybe in the interim, publish a gallery of those participants and agree on a general price, let work of mouth do some talking and before you know it some money rolls in...

I say $500 per T based upon 100km or less and 6 hours or less. The person picks which T's participate..

Firstly this site does not condone this type of business

Secondly, you would be running a very big risk. There are several cops here that would not be too impressed by this sort of activity, as well as anyone who runs a legit wedding car operation.

If you were doing a job and caused injury to your clients, YOU would be personally liable and could be sued. While the idea of a cash job may seem tempting, the risks associated are not.

As this is not going in a legal business direction.
