My car has 307rwkw, 14psi, PWR intercooler, full exhaust, injectors, pumps, valve springs, actuator. Also runs Plazmaman pipes (stage 1) which replace the standard setup... Car is frighteningly fast on boost but off boost a little laggy, throttle response is not a good as I would like. So I wanted to address the low down torque, help it spool up and increase throttle response.I bought and fitted under battery pipe and Hot side piping.... free up the intake abit.After... Both were pretty easy to fit and I do not doubt the quality of the workmanship of these pipes. But did it address what I was looking for....???Very arguable... You can hear the car spool up a little more, probably because I replaced rubber hotside pipes with the metal pipes.. can really hear it spool up. Throttle reponse, not noticable, power, not noticable, lag, off the mark, it didnt make a difference, whilst cruising maybe a little quicker on boost or maybe can just hear it coming on boost??... Also the hot side pipes sit way to low as it comes off the bottom of the intercooler, cannot refit the plastic pice at bottom..I chuck it on the dyno soon and post up if there is any benefit. Before and after graphs. If anyone has any before and after results please post..Its not an expensive mod to do and im sure I didnt go backwards but not sure if it reasonably addressed any of the areas I looked to address. That is just my honest opinion. Instantly noticable, especially how hard the boost hits - I've now got a rapid systems intake and pipework, if you want response go for this and sell your crossover pipes, which shouldn't be too hard! You really havnt shortened the intake length at all. In saying that, ive already fitted a PW UBP and am awaiting on a RAPID hot/cold side pipe set. Though my car is still running the stock tune. Changing the UBP and stock piping on lower power cars makes a good difference, but on cars with high boost and over 300wkws it can still be a restriction... you need 3inch piping to really notice the difference over 300wkws, this is why I didnt sell it to you. hulk xr6t Member 160 Member For: 17y 6m 13d Posted 13/04/08 11:29 PM Author Share Posted 13/04/08 11:29 PM (edited) I dont think the pipes hurt the car but maybe dont give a noticable benefit. Maybe I expect too much from them.Truth is, I would not be able to tell the difference before and after..I think on less boost you would notice even less benefit as the stock pipes would probably flow enough for stock boost.I ask who has ever tested the before and after with a under battery pipe or hot side pipes? Anyone? I honestly cant tell. But has anyone proven the before and after on a dyno...Hey I have the pipes and id love it if they made such a difference. I have no reason to gripe, just being honest so assist others in making a decision to change the pipes. but at 14psi not noticing the difference.. mic Donating Members 1,725 Member For: 17y 3m 11d Gender: Male Posted 14/04/08 09:09 AM Share Posted 14/04/08 09:09 AM I put 3 inch hot side piping on mine and on the generic tune it done nothing. But the dyno said differently and my tuner said that everything was flowing way 2 well for the standard turbo and hardware. On 4.7 psi im still making 160rwkw. Replacing the ubp will make the biggest difference of all as the standard is so restrictive.
