Fark - that's like the end of the earth!That is deep out in the burbs so you will need to go to one of the city centers to find a hotel. Belconnen has a couple of motels/inn's and places to eat in and around the mall. If you are looking for some proper hotels, decent places to eat and things to see you are better off basing yourself in the city. It’s probably at least 20 mins in the car from Macgregor but there aint much out in the burbs!As for things to see – pretty much all the touristy stuff is like 5 mins from the city by car. But keep in mind – it is Canberra! There is 3/5ths of fu.ck all to do in this town!

People I am working with said that 90% of people living there are there because their partners got offered a job there so they came along with them. I am guessing the pay is good there to entice people to come live there?

Yeah the public service usually pays decent coin and there is a lot of Defence Force families in the ACT too. They both pay for the families to come here. Dunno why you would but....
