try a full flush and oil change on it first if that doesn't help start savin pennies because it's on it's way out

I have 57000k on the clock but tuned up a bit and mine is stuffed

I might have to try a flush, This is my first XR6T. Bit of a novice with the oil changes on a trans.

Any point of getting ford to check it out for me?

I got Fraud to drop the pan and flush the converter as well. These are baiscally a sealed unit so you cant just drop the fluid out, u need to drop the pan off.

Mine has a very slight howl to it when you back off from about 80klm on. Only a slight howl though, not sure if its normal or not.

just been out for another drive,

its louder when I use the gears, but not to bad when im using perf or just in drive,,

??????????

it's prabably easier to find a reputable trans shop or ford if you have to and get them to flush it for you
