hey guys,

I got that annoying rattle at the rear end when you go over bumbs and stuff slowly,

and makes your car sound like its falling apart lol...

im under the impression its the exhaust heat shields rattling, but I took it to the mechanic and they said it was the diff bush worn.

it sounds very very tinney more like a light aluminium than the metal used in the diff (although knowing ford parts they might use light aluminium for that too LoL)

is this a common fault, or do you guys think its just the exhaust rattle and the mechanic is just tryin to get some extra cash out of me for an easy fix??

I had mine done recently, but used the Polyurethane Super Pro bush. (warning it does increase NVH slightly) my diff whine is a little more noticable now.

I used Lantern Motors in Brunswick, they service Tons of Taxis so know the BA inside and out.

Speak to Domonic.

The workshop looks a little dodgey, but they are good honest mechanics, only charged me $350 labour, and that was to change all 3 bushes which I supplied.

I know mine is the exhaust rattling because it does it when the front of the car goes up or down the kerbs too..

not too sure that a tinny rattle is the diff bush (not saying that it may not need replacing, but I doubt it is the cause of your rattle)
