Premium Audio Auto Off

Guys,

As you may have seen in another thred I just picked up my car today. As I'm not that experienced with iperation it I though I would ask here about an issue I think I have.

I have noticed that if I have the key in the ignition switched to AUX and turn the radio on, it will automatically turn itself off for no aparent reason. I have not sat down and timed this phenonum but it is the manner of minutes.

The ICD remains illuminated but the radio will not turn back on (even if you press the on/off button) until the key have been removed and re-inserted.

Has anyone else heard of this problem?

Have you tried it without the key in the ignition??

Whenever I wash the car I turn the radio on (no key in ignition) and it runs until I turn it off (it will tiem out eventually though - either 30 or 60 mins)

I cant remember ever trying with the ignition in ACC.

All that aside I dont think it should turn off - you may have a problem with the BEM causing that behaviour?????

Yeah, l agree with Cam. This sounds unusual, l have had my car 6 months now and would have noticed if it was doing this.

Its always disappointing to have drama with a brand new car, luckily this is a minor one. Enjoy it! And dont forget the photos.

On a slightly different issue has anyone else noticed that if you turn the sound right down and then turn the car off, when you turn it back on the sound has automatically gone back up to 3?

The radio will turn off (without using key) by itself after 1 hour. This was first introduced in the EB or ED falcon.

My radio also jumps back up to 3 on the volume when you turn the car back on after having it turned down to zero. Lets you know you actually still have the radio turned on.

Well I haven't noticed it again but if it does happen I get the dealer to fix it and keep you all up to date if it is an on-going issue.
