Has Anyone Snapped An Axel?

I found out today that I snapped my rear left axel. Was driving home the other night thought I would have a bit of fun and slipped the clutch in second. I had just put new tyres on that day. I only reved the car to just over 2k and let the clutch out. Heard a knock in the back and the car didn't drive anymore. I thought straight away the centre's gone. I was half expecting it to happen one day after three years of punishment! Turns out to be a snapped axel. Just curious if anyone has had something similar

I broke an axle about 2 years ago, from memory it was the second thing I broke after a bush, made a mess of my whole rear end in the process
