Taxis do 100,000s of Ks on these engines. Tough as old boots, you just have to watch the rods.

Not to many 280rwkw turbo taxi though. Taxis also don't really cool down as they are almost constantly on the move.

...and you need another zero in that figure. They usually go 'round the clock' a couple of times before being retired. :shocked:

The reasonim a little worried is because I want to mod it up to approx 280kwaw and I know I will give it a hard time. Im exoecting the clutch to go and that's all I hope.

Do you guys drive em hard?

my ute now has 100960 kms and is a 12/03 model and first registed in Jan 04........ ive modded mine at 99450 kms to 275.8 rwkw and it has never gone better :spoton:

I do drive it harder now then I did before only cause it has been educated but I do take more care now then I did before....... I mean I do give a squirt every now and then but cruise it most of the time.

you shouldnt have too many problems if your sensible :roflmbo:

Yeah, mines originally a Gold Coast Ute, its Oct 03. I bought it in June with 49,000klms on the clock... Unfortunatly I had to clock up 2000klms on it driving it home....
