Driving From Canberra To Brisbane

we're planning on being in gold coast, then predominantly sunshine coast area (maroochydore).

Tab, I'll let ya know how we go. A cruise/dinner or something would be great! I'll see how we go for time once we get there, we're leaving bubs with the grandparents, so I'm trying to screw a few extra nights in... depends on what happens with bubs though. Plus the missus wants to do all the theme parks! But I'm sure we'll have a day somewhere!!

if yr in a hurry - and dont care about scenery

the coast highway will drive you mental with all the roadworks and speedzones - it is beyond a joke!!!

I head inland to cowra, jerildrie, wellington, molong etc, come out at dubbo... then haul up the inland road - follow the trucks via gondowindi, ipswich etc to brisvegas, buggerall speed zone changes...

much quicker and easier, but if you go at night, be careful stretching yr fuel stops in NSW !!!

the coast road is a shocker if yr in a hurry - believe me...

Yeah this would be my pick too, altho after goondiwindi, inglewood and warwick (watch the speed through here) and after cunninghams gap forget about ipswich/brissy and turn off right to boonah, beaudesert, mt tamborine, nerang, and voila... you're right at the goldy...

some nice scenic and windy bits around mt tamborine, at least there were a few years ago...

I live on the coast side of Mt Tamborine. It's not a bad drive coming back from Goondawindi, just watch your speed either side of Inglewood.
