Just want to get an idea of what people think the depreciation on a BF Phoon will be after the Orion comes out. I hope to be able to upgrade in a year and a half when my lease is over and the opportunity to get a newer car comes up. How do you think the prices will be for a BF (mk1 or 2) Typhoon, not bothered about options, average km in about 18 months? Also, in regards to the difference between a T and an F6 of the same vintage, is it worth-while getting the phoon or better value getting the T with a few options? The status would be nice but I'll be on a budget, so the T would suit just fine... I'm just sick of my clutch and am really warming to having a 6 sp auto.

At the moment second hand BFs are going for between 42k and 56k depending on km travelled and options... I think the Mk1s are the lower end of the price scale.

Orion will hurt new(ish) BF's resale no doubt which is why I am not buying a new car now.

That said, there are some good deals on both T's and Phoons so saving some $$$$ now will offset the pain of depreciation later.

I'd imagine it would be like the step from BAII Phoon to BF. Command a $5k premium? Also with comparing Phoon to T the Phoon will hold a better percentage of it's value but that will be about the same $$ as the T depreciates anyway. I wouldn't buy new now

Yeah of course, I didnt buy my T new and 8 months old saved myself 6k

So as an indication of what price a BF2 Phoon would be in 2009, I should look at the price of a BA2 built in 2005? Is this reliable?

Hopefully they will have heaps of the left over and desparate to sell them... if so, I'll be at the dealers bending THEM over again.
