Hey guys - my car is going in for a front new bumper - insurance job. Will the panel shop / insurance company let me have the damaged front bumper? The bumper is only slightly damaged. I could use the fog inserts as spares.

Ask the panel shop, most damage panels go straight in the skip.

Just talk 2 the panel beater... 90% are tossed usually , the insurance company would not keep them, they'd be lucky to know what to do with it .

Unless they have chunks missing most plastic buper actually get sent off and repaired, by plastic welders.

So the panel shops get money for them.

Just as in the old days chrome bumpers got sent off and pressed back into shape and rechromed if they werent totally cactus.

Yep you are correct. I asked them(panelbeater) they gave me some rubbish story, that it belongs to the insurance co and they're not allowed to give it to me - should have took out the fog inserts as I have heard they come out often.
