I've been reading thru the threads and I know the stock system is good for more than standard kw but...I have crushed my dump pipe (PP took it out...read Clutch Problems) and ford have quoted over $1000, and I'm thinking I could get a nice new shiny complete system for near the same.

Any opinions??? :crybaby:

If you have to replace it, you might as well get some thing decent, say a dump and cat combo.

thoughts are dump and high flo cat and centre removal. I did ask somewhere if there was any diff. in twin or single? (What's The Best System?)

Just wondering if I could get some clarification on getting an aftermarket system. Does getting a 3.5" dump and high flow cat cause a "limp home" mode or overboost? I need to seriously start thinking about what system to get.

I've had the full 3.5" XForce system, and bigger I/C, on my MkII with no overboost issues. Never had a problem.

And don't bother with the standard dump. At a minimum get 3.5" split dump and cat. I'd recommend a full system though.

If I was in your shoes and had a bit of money to spend I would buy a complete XForce system either the 3.5" or twin 2.5".

If you were on a budget I would fit a large MetalCat and replace the front mufflers with straight through pipes.

You will need to retune your car either way to prevent over boosting.

I dont think the short dump pipe from your turbo would be squashed but probably the pipe in the front bit of your cat section would be. If you wanted to replace that section people often have them up for sale on the forum cheap

I forgot to mention to those who do not know my car is stock and will be until well into next year. is it because of the high flow cat that they overboost? is there any other aftermarket way around it?

I think with a hi flow dump and cat you car will go into limp home mode.

not too sure about just a dump, might be able to get away with that as the cat is the restriction
