So the 20 psi ones are only boost, and not boost/vac like the 30psi ones?

you can get a vac/boost 20psi cobalt I have one in my car. If you are getting the mechanical one there is a little bit of modifaction required for it to fit into the tripod but it can be done. The tripod is desinged for electrical gauges.

The tripod is an excellent product. It looks like a factory part it has a great finish and reasonably priced. I am very happy with mine.

Whats involved in fitting the mechanical boost gauge in the tripod???

when I fitted mine all I had 2 do was cut the long metal threads off the back off the boost gauge so the cover for the tripod could fit on the back of the pod and also had 2 bend back the terminals with pliars there wasnt 2 much mucking around the tripod is a really good product.

Do you still have your standard BOV connected ?

I blocked mine so I'm not sure where I wold connect the boost gauge

You would plug it into the small vacuum hose that originally connected to the top of the stock BOV. If you have blocked off the small vacuum hose with a screw or something then just take out the screw and join the boost gauge pipe to it, or unplug that little plastic piping you have blocked, and plug the boost gauge pipe straight onto that metal pipe.

(note: that is assuming that you blocked off that small vacuum pipe to disconnect your BOV)

When I fitted mine I cut a bit of the back of the pod for the terminals to go through you cant see it when it is installed. I also had a bit of trouble finding a 90deg elbow for the vac/boost line to conect to as it would not fit straight on there was not enough room I ended up having to get a bsb thread elbow and retaping it to npt thread as they are very similar anyway. the npt elbows I could find were all to big. But it is in now and looks awsome. I love it.
