But that's a huge increse, it needs to be pulled back with a tune.Have you considered getting an Edit tune from one of our local tune shops? I'm sure one of the competent shops could send you over a Falsh tuner box with a good tune to suit you mods... then get it on a dyno and check the boost, AFR, and detonation levels. When I spoke to them , they did notice that all the Plazmaman kits showed larger boost rises over all other kits , similar to yours . They should be familiar with these products and should be able to sort out a tune box for you to suit your setup . +61 7 3271 3223 is their number ( but double check ) . Cant remember what the guys name is I spoke to. What do you think of the kit ? I am looking at getting a Plazmaman stage 1 . According to most Sydney major workshops they are meant to be the best . I guess with your results that they live up to their name . Try Tune house in Sydney , they are awesome too . They are a forum sponsor . Posted 03/06/07 08:02 PM Author Share Posted 03/06/07 08:02 PM The plazmaman kit seems to be great quality - finish of the intercooler is excellent.Fitting wasn't quite as easy as I thought , getting the lower brackets to line up was hard due to the air con pipe in the way. Didn't want to bend it to much but it all fitted after a few small bends at a time. Being the temperature over here was never going to give me heat soak issues I chose this more to get better air flow and clear any intake restrictions. I also swopped the battery over to the other side so plazmaman removed the cross over replacement pipe from the kit and I had the intake pipe to join pod filter to turbo + air box. My local tuner has been looking into becoming a dealer for Dreamscience ( capa flash units) so hopefully I will remove the unichip and go down that route with an edit , but I will have to get him to tune it with the unichip just to make sure we can get rid of the overboost problem before I spend out to much money on other things. I fitted a KN breather to the rocker cover as I didnt want to pipe it back down to the intake pipe- I guess strictly speaking not legal as it is not a closed circuit any more. Posted 05/06/07 10:46 PM Author Share Posted 05/06/07 10:46 PM Have piped wastegate actuator to compressor housing with a bleed valve inbetween to get back to 7/8 psi. Temporary fix until I can get it into tuners Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/35388-anything-else-to-do-before-tune/page/2/#findComment-541073 Share on other sites

They are outdated technology and too restrictive. Go an SCT/CAPA flash box, you will easly be able to fix your overboost problem and correctly Tune your car, not lie to it as the Unichip does. Gives more flexability and most of all reliability for future Mods.CheersMatt.
