Yes and no, you see in VIC as off july ( I think ) no p plater can drive a turbo car.....

So there hopefully want be to many young guns, rolling up in there T's.

Hey Michael,

We are examples of P Platers not abiding by this law. Before you came off your p's you were driving your T around yea? The T at the moment is restricted from p platers when it comes to the power to weight ratio, yet we chose to get one anyway, so I think that other young drivers will take the same attitude as we did, especially when they get cheaper and cheaper?

Being the next VLT has absolutely nothing to do with young hoons flying around in them when they become cheap.

XR6T the next 'cult' car. Definitely.

It will be bigger than the VLT ever was.

The VLT was born with a financially struggling holden; it wasn't exactly planned, the rb30 met the requirements at the time so they used it.

The XR6T is a completely different kettle of fish. The motor has been designed from ground up by ford them selves. They them selves deserve ALL the credit unlike Holden.

Expensive Daewoo made a good choice using the RB30ET in the VL...

Ford has gone just that one step better by designing it them selves. :D

Big thumbs up to Ford. Crazy buggers throwing a 650 capable hp turbo on a factory car. :P

Respect where its due, there's no dispute.

Not having a go mate but I'm actually interested in the thought process involved in deciding to "ignore these laws". I'm under the impression the T is still over the power to weight ratio for P platers in VIC. Do you have insurance? If yes, any concerns regarding insurance not being honoured? Is the car registered in your name? I've also seen a few P platers with T's and I dare say not all of them are N/A's with a badge.....

Hey superoo, yea the T is over the p2w ratio, but I decided to get one anyway... I did it because at the time I got a great paying job and I luved the car! Yea I have insurance, and I spoke to a rep that said even though im not supposed to be driving it, legally as long as I pay what is due the car will be fully covered, and yea the car is under my name, it was under my dads but I transfered it to me because get this, it was cheaper to put the car in my name and pay full comp than put it under my dads name and have me as a driver. My dad has a clean record too, no accidents, no claims.

Hopefully you'll never need to find out if the insurance rep is full of it...heard of insurance companies not paying out for far less reason than you shouldn't legally be driving the car.

Hopefully the insurance companies don't start looking at the T's as the new VL's. As if they need another reason to charge higher premiums.
