Will The Xr6 Turbo Become The New Vl Turbo?

Hi Guys,

Over the past week or so I have seen many young and P Plate drivers driving XR6Ts. And from what I can see it looks like our the T's are going to be the next VL Turbos. They are getting cheaper and cheaper by the month, but at the same time the government are bringing in new laws to stop young drivers getting into any turbocharged, supercharged or performance enhanced cars. My observation on this is that the XR6T characteristics can be easily hidden and passed as an N\A, making it easier to get away with. and for what its worth I'm a p plater and I have chosen to ignore these laws.

Do you think that the XR6T will have the same reputation as the VL Turbo in a couple of years to come?

Sure, As prices of BA's drop more will be bought, by younger drivers and modified.

The fact is VLT's today are dirt cheap but are generally stuffed, suffered a hard life, So less people are getting into them when newer cars are availble for cheap.

I have seen alot of "P Platers" with the turbo badging stuck on when in actual fact the car is a N/A no front mount inter cooler, Try hards.

I own a VL Calais turbo, As well as a BA XR6T. I have owned my VL for over 10 years, been a really good car but, I agree to many "Tossers" own them and think they can out run anything on the road, which give owners like myself a bad rep, not that I care. Police don't pull me over anyway.

So answer , Probably will be the next VLT.

unfortunately it most probably will.theyll still have to get a lot cheaper yet before they fall into the hands of too many tossers.in that time newer better versions will come out and the more cashed up and mature owners will start a new trend with those vehicles.nothing better than blowing away a backwards cap wearing smartarse in front of his mates.

Yes and no, you see in VIC as off july ( I think ) no p plater can drive a turbo car.....

So there hopefully want be to many young guns, rolling up in there T's.

Not having a go mate but I'm actually interested in the thought process involved in deciding to "ignore these laws". I'm under the impression the T is still over the power to weight ratio for P platers in VIC. Do you have insurance? If yes, any concerns regarding insurance not being honoured? Is the car registered in your name? I've also seen a few P platers with T's and I dare say not all of them are N/A's with a badge.....
