Hi all,

Well, today I decided to go for a long(ish) drive to New Norcia. This is about a 2.5 hour round trip from my place and I chose it because it's not just a boring long piece of road, but twisty and turning, while still at 110 km/h.

So, how'd I go? Well, the first thing I did after getting out of the city and up to Bullsbrook was to turn the stereo off

That Turbo sound is soooo nice! This car accelerates so quickly it's bloody scarey. Overtaking lanes and Road Trains (double-B's, I think they are) were a piece of cake. Without saying too much, it was extremely easy for the speed alert to go off

So, what did I think? I'm still getting used to the Sports wheel. I really, really prefer the Momo wheel I had in the AUII XR6, I so wish I could have it back! But, I suppose I'll get used to it.

No whistling noises from the windscreen at all, and on most parts of the road almost all I could hear was the wind rushing past and the whine of the turbo. Gotta love that.

Averaged 11.5 l/100km and 90 km/h during the entire trip. An interesting observation was that instantaneous fuel consumption went as low as 0.6 l/100km when coasting down a long hill with Cruise on at 90 km/h. Wish it was that low all the time!

Now I just have to wash it to get all the bugs off!

Ninka, that's funny, York was my first choice, but I decided on New Norcia because I hadn't been there before. Now I know why  I just did a u-turn and headed back as there really isn't much there and I wasn't in the mood for a tour of the monastery (hmm, that doesn't look right).

I may do another run tomorrow. This all came about 'cos the Roadside Assist guy joked "Do you drive your car or take it for a walk?" the other day. bas*ard! :wwww:

Nice one Lightning :)

I'll be doing the same on the day I pick my car up.

Cruise down Bells line of road, then onto a twisty Great Western Hwy, to Lithgow via Jenolan Caves.

Then down to Wollongong on the outskirts of Sydney, then up to pick my wife up from work and go for dinner in Newcastle, travelling on the Old Pacific Hwy.

A lot of curves, varying speeds to run it in properly cant wait :)

I've had 0.2 L/100km while going down a steep hill! Imagine how long a tank of fuel would last with economy like that.
