did they give details on how they fixed the clicking? I get that too on really slow turns, ie turning outta the driveway..

I got a split in the face of one of my dunlops after reading on here it was a tyre fault, an ford said I musta drove over something and gave me nothin. I drove on it anyway and never had a problem with it.. they were so loud anyway hahaha

They said it was play in the steering rack or something, but didn't really elaborate. He reckoned it was a pretty common thing.

I never actually saw any cracks in the rubber, and I've had a wheel off in the last month (Had to get a nail puncture repaired).

BA steering racks get a little loose at times, remove the two bolts holding it in place then smother the locating pins with lock tite, a little on the bolts back in, no more creak.......

I'm suprised Dunlop hasn't fixed this problem yet, I first noticed it back in 03 on the SP3000, and have now seen it happen on SP9000 and Sport Maxx.

Just goes to show how sh*t the manufacturer is...

that's great news that you got them replaced....

On the SP3000's isn't that why they switched to using SP3000A's - because of all the dramas they were having? Or are they just the same thing? :greyscare::slap:

Hey that's a worry!!!! Showing kids pictures of a man in a wonder woman suit which is kept in your wallet!!!!

I'm dialing 1800 55 1800 & reporting this one...LOL

Great to hear of the excellent service. You should replace the 4th tyre as it'd be just about shagged as well!

38500, actually.

Still, if you'd just been given $700 worth of tyres for free, would YOU complain?

hell no... I wouldnt be complaining and yes I would be very gratefull but I would still think why only 3

that's all :sleepystuff:

Yeah well four would have been the icing on the cake, but never mind.

I'm definitely gonna spend the extra cash and get the fourth one replaced; it seems silly not to.

I've also got two spare rims that I need to get some burnout/drags tyres fitted to, so I'll probably do that at the same time, rather than front up to a tyre joint and ask for just one tyre. :w00t2:

Any recommendations on brand/series of tyre for this? I don't wanna spend mega bucks, but I want some half decent traction for the strip. :sleepystuff:

I scored 4 new ones 2 months back. I only noticed a crack in one of them and I asked him if were there cracks in all four and he just said that I owed him a beer. The tyres had done 20000k. I did wonder if they had a second hand XR in the lot with some bald tyres and this was a way of getting some half decent tread on it.
