Traction Control Light Staying On?

Its most probably the steering angle sensor (SAS) mounted on the column they'll change, not the colunm itself

I have a problem that has come up with mine(BF1) that has progressively gotten worse over the last few weeks. At first the TC would just turn itself off if I sat at a high speed (ie. 80kph +) for a conistent period of time. No biggie.

but now it has progressed to when I turn corners the TC goes nuts and starts to cut engine power and if my foots on the brake at the time the ABS goes nuts to. I 'm thinking a dodgy wheel sensor. Any other ideas?

As Josh said, it's an issue with your edit. Get your tuner to fix it.

My BF II was in the workshop yesterday having this problem fixed. The TC light would come on everytime I drove the car. The problem was that the steering angle sensor needed to be recalibrated. All fixed under warranty.

Hey goobz, I too have thia problem, Ive got an XR8 with full exhaust but no edit. I found the TC wentcrazy after getting new rear tyres. The tyre guys suggested I take it to ford.. lol.

So ive just been turning the tupid thing off for the time being. Seriously as if im losing traction when planting it at 100 +. Like I know how quick the 8s are and all

I have the problem with the t/c light staying on.I have taken my XR6T back to ford twice

where they cleared all the sensors.they said it was fixed.Now its come on again I will be taking it back on monday where they will be replacing the steering column.they say that is the problem now.

I got the problem fixed when I took it back to ford the 3rd time they had to replace the steering column something to do with a worn bush.

has anyone had a final word from ford (official response from someone who knows)regarding this? mine has done it since new, before and after edit, I was just under the impression that if you give it too much the TC turns off for safety reasons so it dosen't do any damage to the system.... when I spoke to ford ( service staff mind you ) they claimed that the ba's will turn off when you give it too much, but the bfs shouldn't as they sorted it by then.... in any case mine, 05 mk2 turns off if I give it, but it has to be a proper tromp, not just an accidental wheel spin in the wet (which the TC works pretty good)...

I was told by my tuner not to run TC when driving hard after a edit

due to the TC system not been designed for that much torque/power.

Mine (BF XR6T - No edit) was related to the steering column also (replaced), which caused traction control and stability control to mailfunction after around a few seconds of driving...
